Exhibition: Walt Whitman in His Time and Ours

Walt Whitman in His Time and Ours examines the poet's life and work in the context of the era in which he lived. The exhibit will also explore Whitman's influence on other writers and American life and culture from his own time up to the present. A wide variety of material will be featured in the exhibition, including first and early editions of Whitman’s books, work by his contemporaries and associates, fine press editions of Whitman’s work; work by authors who were inspired or influenced by Whitman, and a variety of other items.
