Lecture: Walt Whitman in Camden and Philadelphia
By Friends in the City, Philadelphia City Institute Library

Follow the Good Gray Poet as he rides the ferries and explores the wharves on the Delaware River, sits and chats with friends on stoops in Germantown, loiters on Market Street or lectures in one of the city's small literary clubs... Thom Nickels is the author of twelve books, including: Out in History (2005), Philadelphia Architecture (2005) and Spore (2010). Nickels was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award for his book, Two Novellas (1990) and awarded the Philadelphia AIA Lewis Mumford Award for Architectural Journalism in 2005. This program is co-sponsored by Friends in the City (FitC) and the Philadelphia City Institute Library, and will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level. We regret there is no elevator.
