The Philadelphia Whitman Poetry Festival & Book Fair 2019

Readings and performances throughout the day, hosted by Leonard Gontarek & Eileen D'Angelo. The book fair is for presses and poets signing and selling their books of poems. All proceeds go to authors or publishers.


Space is free but very limited. You must sign up in advance and arrive at 11 a.m. There will be space for program brochures and flyers from Phila poetry and writing outlets—bring your series' information to share!


Lots of street parking + Fresh Grocer Parking Garage; good food and spirits within the block: Smokey Joe's, Greek Lady, Mizu Sushi Bar, City Tap House, Bobby's Burgers, Copabanana, Hummus, & The Last Word Book Shop. Past participants have included: Farley's First Thursday Series, Montgomery County Poet Laureate Program, Mad Poets Society, Calypso Press, Philadelphia Stories, Brandywine Valley Writers Group, Schuylkill Valley Journal, The Osage Poets, Brigid's House Writers, Phila Writers Conference, Painted Bride Quarterly, Cleaver Magazine, American Poetry Review, Thread Makes Blanket Press, Mighty Writers.


Free and open to the public.
