The Beaver Island Christian Church is multi-denominational and welcomes all who live on or visit our fair island known as America’s Emerald Isle.
Located just north of the Ferry Dock, the Beaver Island Christian Church is just a short walk from lodging locations.
Social precautions such as hand sanitizing before entering the church building, social distancing, and masks will be observed. This means that we all need to have patience and forgiveness for one another.
There may be things in our initial re-opening plans that you do not like or do not agree with. There may also be mistakes made and things learned and later changes. Forgiveness and understanding for each other will be key as we learn what works best so that we may continue to receive God’s gifts of Word and Sacrament together.
Please remember your brother and sister in Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us, “All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful…Let no one seek his own good but the good of his neighbor” (I Cor. 10:23-24) And Jesus says “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 23:29). Much of what we are asking everyone to do is to keep one another safe. And by doing so, we look out for our neighbor’s good and show love to one another. In other words, if I don’t want to wear a mask to church, but I know it’s important to my brother or sister in Christ so they’ll feel safe, I’ll do so out of love for them. The board will be reviewing guidelines for gathering together at the July 13 board meeting. Please be patient with us as we try to do our best for the whole church family.
