Greater New Orleans, Inc. and the University of New Orleans are excited to invite you to an Offshore Wind Energy employer roundtable on Tuesday, August 23 at 11:30 am. Join us to discuss the academic credentials and skills needed to support the growth of the offshore wind industry, as well as opportunities for collaboration for the development of for-credit and non-credit programs.
The University of New Orleans, in partnership with the UNO Research & Technology Foundation, is developing academic programs with the goal of supplying highly-trained professionals for the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. A wind engineering certificate program within its College of Engineering would consist of 4-5 courses for qualified Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Architecture, and Marine Engineering juniors and seniors to train them in concepts related to offshore wind. Additionally, UNO’s Professional and Continuing Education is slated to be among the first in the country to offer training for the future-of-energy workforce in a convenient, online format. Courses would be designed to provide complementary skills training and depth to offshore wind-career readiness.
The roundtable will be held in person in the GNO, Inc. boardroom, and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by Thursday, August 18.
