A combination of challenging asanas (poses) that embark on the physical challenge, as well as a spiritual component, which involves self-love, awareness & acceptance. This 75 minute class starts on the floor, it moves thru a thorough warm-up, to a series of challenging standing asanas, balance & focus asanas as well as lots of core strengthening asanas, prepare to be physically challenged! The last 20 to 25 minutes of class brings the student back to the floor in an effort to connect more with one's parasympathetic nervous system, thus preparing the body for rest, digest, detoxification & optimizing health. The last segment of class involves a different type of challenge & the emphasis is on breath & stretching connective tissue. This part of class can be very mentally challenging but it also IS so VERY, VERY good for us to slow down & just breathe! :-)
As you know, we live in a world that is rooted in technology, a digitally obsessed escape based society, we are inundated by screens, laptops & social media, which, ironically is causing a huge personal disconnect & a lot of stress.
