As part of our Michaelmas Term 'Navigating the academic labour market' programme, we are hosting a one-hour, online chaired discussion for all disciplines PhDs and Postdocs to spotlight key shifts and trends in the complex UK academic labour market.
The purpose of the session is to highlight some top-level changes in the UK academic landscape to give you sense of the evolving picture and to recognise the impact of these shifts on developing an academic career.
The two themes this year are 1) research culture and 2) the drivers for porosity/mobility with industry and policy. Our two speakers will speak on these topics and what it might mean for an academic career.
Speakers for this event:
Liz Simmonds, Head of Research Culture, University of Cambridge
Steve Joy, Head of the Postdoc Academy, University of Cambridge
