Stand with the Milwaukee community in memorial to the Six Million and in remembrance of all forms of resistance. We will be joined by Holocaust survivor Claire Boren at this year’s commemoration. Claire will share how her experiences and memories from the Holocaust continue to shape her artwork.

More about Claire Boren: a Holocaust survivor from Mizocz, Poland (now Ukraine), inspires individuals to stand up to injustice while representing the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education in New Jersey. She and her mother survived the Holocaust by hiding from October 1942, when Jews of Mizocz were murdered, until the spring of 1944, when the Red Army liberated the area. Her husband, Adam Boren, z’’l, also a Holocaust survivor, participated in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and survived Majdanek, Auschwitz, Sachsenhausen and a death march. Claire is also a professional artist, and her work has been featured in various galleries throughout New York and New Jersey.
