Ezra Choueke never planned to write a book, but after hearing his grandmother Lucie’s stories, he knew he had to publish them. Starting from her childhood in Aleppo, Syria, to her forced marriage at the age of thirteen, to being taken to Japan to help her new husband run his business and raising a family in a Nazi-allied country during WWII, this incredibly unique memoir shares the joy, grief, pain, anger, and gratitude.
