Have you ever wondered how websites work? Are you considering learning web development but want to dip your toes in before committing to a longer course of education? This short 8 week course might be for you, learning alongside one of our new tutors, Greg Parsons. We’ll focus on the Frontend aspect of web development, what is happening in the browser when you view a webpage, and cover the core frontend technologies, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Along the way we’ll also explore what the web is, and how it works at a high level.
You’ll need to bring an internet capable device with a comfortable keyboard, such as a laptop or a tablet with a dedicated keyboard. You could use a phone, but you won’t have a fun time.
You can attend in person or via Zoom, in which case a webcam and microphone would be great so you can participate in discussions and ask questions. You’ll also need to sign up for a GitHub account, but that can be covered in the first class.
If the class is full but you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email Nicola at dunedinwea@gmail.com or add yourself to the waiting list here on BookWhen.
This course is kindly funded by COGS, Lottery Community and the Otago Community Trust.
