Closing Reception: "4" - The Art of Printmaking, Four Buffalo Print Artists
By James Goodrich

Meet the artists to see their work and ask questions at our closing reception.

The Department of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is excited to begin a spring semester of exhibitions in the Dolce Valvo Art Center with the exhibition "4". "4" is a presentation on The Art of Printmaking. The work of four Buffalo Printmakers will be featured including Bob Fleming (Mirabo Press), Barbara Rowe (Abaca Press), Kathleen Sherin (Buffalo Arts Studios), and Peter Sowiski (Abaca Press).

Students and the college community will have the opportunity to learn about the processes of Relief Printing, Etching, Lithography, and Silkscreen methods that result in multiples or editions of a work. The invention of the Printing Press allowed for a greater circulation of images and ideas and many processes created like replicas of an image. The artists in the exhibition also create Monoprints that are unique, one-of-a-kind impressions that experiment with variations on traditional methods. Join us in Dolce Valvo Art Center to explore these fascinating works of art.
