Bloneva Bond Day @ NCCC
By John D Strong

NCCC's JEDI committee and the Niagara Falls City School District have teamed up with Art Force Five from Alfred University for the 2022 Women's Empowerment Draft!

Join us for the unveiling of the Dr. Bloneva Bond mosaic in the NCCC Dining Commons on March 29 at 4 p.m. and on our social media platforms for a virtual recognition of Dr. Bond's contributions to WNY.

This draft is a program inspired by pro-sports drafts, features colorful sport jerseys, mosaics, trading cards, and draft ceremony for 31 women across New York State. Colleges and public grade schools partner to celebrate the woman in history they represent. This year, NCCC and the Niagara Falls City School District drafted Dr. Bloneva Bond, the first Black woman elected to the Niagara Falls School Board and was a president of the Niagara Falls Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
