HEROS Charity welcome you to a very special OPEN DAY in association with the Southern Counties Heavy Horse Association.

Meet heavy horse breeds that include, Boulonnais, Clydesdale, Comtois, Percheron, Shire and the Suffolk Punch.

Live demonstrations include shoeing and horses in action, with driving and logging displays. Watch fun competition, where these beautiful giants will show off their agility. We may even see how they compare with an ex racehorse or two. Devilishly handsome dray horses will be pulling their carriage, with other vintage carts to view. Watch activities that include Flight Making, Harness Making, and how breeds are plaited.

HEROS ponies will be on hand to entertain the younger generation with the opportunity to try your hand at grooming or plaiting. With videos and an exhibition in our Education Hub you can find out more about HEROS and the important work this charity does. Refreshments are available on the day.
