Following the success of last year's Jubilee Fete, Planning is well underway for this year's village fete on Sunday 25th June!  

Taking place from noon to 4.30pm on Theale Recreation Ground and supported by Greenham Common Trust and Englefield Charitable Trust, this community event offers a fun packed afternoon for all the family!  Activities and attractions include children's fairground rides and inflatables, plus our Community Games area will feature a range of traditional games including the ever popular lucky dip, hook a duck and soft toy tombola. There will also be some traditional games for grown-ups including bowling for a pig, horseshoe and welly throwing! Arena displays include a dog show and demonstrations from local community groups whilst Theale Social Club will also be open so grab a refreshing beverage and enjoy music from local bands in our "Beer Garden" Marquee.

Charity groups taking part in the fete include Daisy's Dream,  Motor Nerone Disease Association, RSPB and Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, so do come along and show your support by helping to raise much needed funds or becoming a volunteer. We also have a great range of goodies on offer from local independent traders, including toiletries, candles, toys, crafts and home-made sweets and cakes. There are still a few pitches available so get in touch with Theale Parish Council if you would like more details about having a stall at the fete. 

We will also be running our hugely popular Grand Raffle once again. Prizes include £150 cash courtesy of Arlington Business Park, Tickets to Newbury Races and Flackstock. Any raffle prize donations would be a fantastic boost and greatly appreciated! New for this year is our silent auction - this is your chance to bid for VIP tickets to Heritage Live's summer concerts at Englefield Estate, headlined by Richard Ashcroft and Hozier!

The parish council is actively encouraging all of Theale's residents to get involved as an event of this scale takes a huge amount of organising! We are recruiting volunteers to help with running the event - if can you spare an hour or two on the day to help with setting up, parking, running stalls, selling raffle tickets and tidying up after all the fun of the fete, please do get in touch!
