Music: Black Dog Prowl / Eliza and the Organix / Sheila

Sheila 8:00-8:30

Sheila is not just a band but a representation of change that we, three young black women, want to see in ourselves as well as the world. What started as weekly skype sessions between sisters Courtney and Rhea Tucker and Sha'Air Hawkins has quickly transcended into the now formed Sheila. Sheila mixes sounds of alternative rock, R&B, and rap as influences to their sound.

Eliza and the Organix 8:45-9:15

Funky BK rock band. Influences include Cake, Fiona Apple, Morphine. E&tO deals in deep grooves, quirky humor, and high octane playing, drawing from a broad sonic canvas that remains focused in storytelling and soulful sound.

Black Dog Prowl 9:30-10:00

Black Dog Prowl is considered one of Washington, D.C.'s hardest hitting rock bands. The four-piece showcases original material ranging from the slow, down-tuned to a fast-paced kick in the teeth. If one insists on drawing a line to the familiar, BDP has drawn sonic comparisons to the likes of Soundgarden, Torche, and Nirvana.
