Side-by Side Painting: The Power of Color with Kristi Pfister
By Diane Matyas
Workshop participants will experience the impact of color on their work by making two paintings of the same design side-by-side, using strikingly different color palettes for each one. Make a simple shape drawing at the workshop or come with a drawing/design (approx. 9” x 12”) that will be transferred twice onto paper. Acrylic paints will be used. Basic color theory will be reviewed such as the use of analogous and complementary colors; we will look at the work of Josef Albers and Andy Warhol. At the workshop's end, participants will depart with side-by-side paintings that have the same design, but are completely different, due to the power of color to transform a work.
Limited to 6 students - no walk-ins. Cancellations must be made by Tuesday April 25th.
