An Afternoon of Beethoven with Sylvia Berry, fortepiano and Shirley Hunt, cellor
add to calendar
Please join us on Monday August 29th from 2 - 3pm when we will present Shirley Hunt (cello) and Sylvia Berry (fortepiano), rescheduled from this past winter. The Hunt-Berry Duo is comprised of two artists who have dedicated their careers not just to historical instruments, but to the study of late 18th and early 19th century performance practices. Shirley Hunt is an internationally respected baroque cellist and violist da gamba. She brings fierce imagination and integrity to the music of the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary eras. Sylvia Berry is one of North America's leading exponents of historical keyboard instruments. Berry is known not only for her exciting performances, but also for the engaging commentary she provides about the music and instruments she plays, in this case a five-octave fortepiano, representative of the time of early Beethoven.
For this Music Mondays performance the Hunt-Berry duo will be presenting an "An Afternoon of Beethoven" in honor of Beethoven's 252nd birthday, highlighting his early years.
