Challenging Prejudice: Etty
By Kim L. Gilbert

Etty is a touring one-woman play based on the diaries and letters of Etty Hillesum, a young Jewish woman living in Amsterdam during the Holocaust. The play is adapted and performed by Susan Stein and directed by Austin Pendleton.

Etty speaks directly to the audience as she witnesses her world and battles with ethical and moral questions. Her words, insights, and beliefs reach out and allow us to see the power of hope and individual thought in even the most extreme circumstances.

As part of the performance, Susan Stein will lead a discussion on social justice and ask the audience to challenge prejudice everywhere.
