Hannukah Happens XXIX: The Lighter Side

Featuring Cantor Elias Rosemberg, The Zamir Chorale of Boston and Joshua Jacobson Artistic Director.

This year’s program highlights the lighter side of Jewish music— songs of happiness, humor, parody and just plain fun. You will hear joyous Israeli songs, such as “Simchu Na,” and “Mayim Be- Sason”; songs from the theater, including Frank Loesser’s “Luck Be a Lady Tonight” from Guys and Dolls, and Kurt Weill and Ira Gersh- win’s hilarious “Tchaikovsky and Other Russians,” which was made famous by Danny Kaye; classic parodies, such as Allan Sherman’s “Hello Muddah,” and Schlock Rock’s “Under the Chuppah.”

Tickets: $25/adult, $20/student
