WILD FIRE Memory Workshop
By History Colorado Center

Free registration

Join Jessica Kahkoska, a Colorado playwright/dramaturg and History Colorado Community Engagement staff as they lead an interactive community storytelling event to  connect those with experiences of Colorado wildfires with each other and the state historical society.  You are invited to a virtual storycircle where we will create space to listen to and preserve the histories and lived experiences of attendees. Bring a pen and paper.

Launched in January 2021, WILD FIRE is a community oral history and theatre project based on real stories of living with wildfire in Colorado, with a focus on the 2020 East Troublesome Fire and surrounding communities of Grand Lake and Estes Park.

The project is created by Jessica Kahkoska in partnership with History Colorado’s Museum of Memory Initiative. A theatrical concert inspired by these stories was commissioned by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
