History Colorado is excited to offer the return of our professional series – Museum Basics.
In this session, get behind the research desk to learn about copyright, use agreements, microfilm, and other patron services.
This series is designed for those who work or volunteer at cultural institutions such as museums, libraries, and archives, as well as graduate students interested in the same line of work. Courses will cover a variety of topics and are perfect for those looking to gain a better understanding of the basics of working in cultural institutions.
The 2022 course schedule is: Loans, Exhibits, & Insurance (January 12), Photographs (March 9), Programming & Collection Activation (May 11), Objects as Teaching Tools (July 13), Patron Services (September 14), and Digitization & Metadata (November 9).
Participants may purchase an individual class, an individual annual pass, or an institutional annual pass (for 3 to 5 staff and/or volunteers representing a single institution). Annual passes include all six 2022 course offerings as well as a Museum Basics binder to store course materials.
