Forward Together
Forward Together is an exhibition of Susan Grabel's digitally fabricated
work in wood and steel. It expresses her vision that the only way for
civilization to survive is for people to embrace their shared humanity and
move forward together. Her work is a metaphor for this path to survival and
is enhanced by the color of the wood stains as well as the forms and
rhythms of the positive and negative spaces.
This exhibition is a further iteration of her prior work in Confluence: A
Way Forward, an exhibition mounted at Artspace @ Staten Island Arts in
2017. It expands the content and further utilizes the processes of new
technology and expertise she found with Scott Van Campen and the crew at
the Staten Island Maker Space
