Join us in celebrating the opening of our new special exhibit Exploring the Complex Curve, Gemstone Carvings by Naomi Sarna!
Central to Naomi’s work is the play of light and shadow, movement, texture and the use of bold color combinations. According to Naomi, carving is a relatively simple process using a stationery arbor. What she says is more complex is creating the art that become the carvings seen in her jewelry and precious objects. Naomi’s work is inspired by the sensuous curves and flowing curls of the Pre-Raphaelite and Art Nouveau periods. Over 20 of her pieces are on view through January 15, 2024 in the Special Exhibitions Gallery.
The opening night party is free to attend, but registration is required. Naomi will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate her carving technique for attendees. Light refreshments will be served.
