Tony Furtado
By Walters Cultural Arts Center

Very few musicians personify a musical genre as completely as Tony Furtado embodies Americana Roots music. A virtuoso multi-instrumentalist with a dizzying musical toolbox, he’s also an evocative and soulful singer-songwriter. Adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar, and baritone ukulele, Tony mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef.

From bluegrass to blues, folk to rock, and banjo to slide guitar, the music of Tony Furtado knows no boundaries and Relix hit the nail on the head when writing of Tony: “True talent doesn’t need categories.” Don’t miss this “major musical force” who David Lindley said, “has his black belt in voice, bottleneck guitar, and (whose) banjo playing scares the crap out of me.”
